The staff was invited to the Choi's House. It was blessing to have fellowship together with Kylie and Kirsty, and their parents and grandmother. We enjoyed a delicious meal along with dessert and coffee. Thank you to the Choi's for opening up their home!
The 8th grade boys went out to watch a movie after the Purity Ceremony. Pastor Clark and the boys had a great night of fellowship by sharing lives over a campfire and camping out in front of the jr. high chapel. Take a look at some of the fun they had!
The 8th graders participated in the 2012 Purity Ceremony. Students prepared for the ceremony taking seminar type classes from our Winter Program focusing on themes related to purity, including our identity, friendship/family, and planning for the future. This year the 8th graders had a chance to share what they learned from the classes before taking the vow to remain pure for their future spouse. The parents also participated in the ceremony by presenting the purity ring to each of the students. It was a blessing for the parents, the GSJHM staff, and fellow GSJHM students witnessing the 8th graders making their public promise!
" Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the parents, staff, and fellow students prayed over our 8th graders for God's protection and guidance for their future.
