It was great to gather at our first 6th graders' family visitation- Timothy Park's home! It was a first group visit with our new boojang, Deacon Brian! We had an awesome time getting to know Timothy better- a huge Laker fan and a budding artist!, and his younger sister, Ellie- a poet, herself, as well as their father and mother. Thank you, Park family for inviting us into your home and sharing your time and family with us!

GSJHM had their annual 30 Hour Famine. The evening started with Friday Night Bible Study- videos and activities to remember the under privileged around us but also as a reminder that we were also as they are, lost and sometimes undeserving of redemption, yet saved. Students got a chance to make origami fish and sell them for $1 to the KM service. The congregation and Pastor Ko was generous and donated a total of $990 from fish sales- half of which went to World Vision and half went to Compassion International. Students were also able to raise money individually. We broke the fast on Saturday morning with Mrs Chin's famous rice porridge and thanked God for His faithfulness to us and reaffirmed our refusal to just stand and watch the injustices of the world but to choose to stand up and DO SOMETHING. I Refuse
Sometimes I, I just want to close my eyes And act like everyone's alright When I know they're not This world needs God, but it's easier to stand and watch I could pray a prayer and just move on Like nothing's wrong But I Refuse I don't want to live like I don't care I don't want to say another empty prayer Oh, I refuse to sit around and wait for someone else To do what God has called me to do myself I could choose not to move But I refuse I can hear the least of these, crying out so desperately And I know we are the hands and feet of You, oh God So if You say move, it's time for me to follow through And do what I was made to do And show them who You are I don't want to live like I don't care I don't want to say another empty prayer Oh, I refuse to sit around and wait for someone else To do what God has called me to do myself I could choose not to move But I refuse I refuse to stand and watch the weary and lost cry out for help I refuse to turn my back and try and act like all is well I refuse to stay unchanged, to wait another day to die to myself I refuse to make one more excuse I don't want to live like I don't care I don't want to say another empty prayer Oh, I refuse to sit around and wait for someone else To do what God has called me to do myself I could choose not to move But I refuse |
