As most of you know, today is T.Ann's birthday... we also know that she's perhaps leaving us to move to Houston in another month or so. Because of this, we wanted to make her birthday extra special and the teachers went out to celebrate it at Coconut Bay and then later at Downtown Disney. We dug into mountains of Pad Thai, Pad Se-ew, some Singaporean noodle wannabe (Singapore has noodle but nothing like this that I've ever seen), sweet Thai chili chicken wings, Continental Fried Rice, Duck Rice and cake with fruit in it after from Tous Les Jours... we then detoured to church to repack the cars with teachers and headed to Downtown Disney where we spent two glorious hours playing with toys of all kinds and taking lots of photos (because the guy teachers did not want to go to Cue... =P) We listened to street musicians play everything from guitar to violin to foot-tapping jazz and left the area with a song in our ears and much love in our hearts... HAPPY BIRTHDAY T.Ann and many more to come!

We were privileged to be asked back to Eugene Park's home (we must've made a good impression i.e. not eaten them out of house and home, the last time we were there!) this November after Teachers Meeting. Alas, T.Sharon was so hungry that she took nada photos. Not to say that we didn't have a fabulous time or that the food (homemade-make-it-yourself-tacos) were not AWESOME or that the monster smack-down UNO (eeks! I have to take 2 cards) game wasn't brutal (what with 7-0, jump-in rules enough to make T.Lizzy lose her composure...) We had a great time, not captured by photos but captured in our hearts... gotta get invited again to get those photos, then, huh, Eugene?
It is an annual tradition that Publication and History's first academic year's event is the decoration of the Junior High Chapel. This is taken on to encourage creativity, to bond the group closer together and to serve as an outlet of service to the whole ministry. This year's decorations fell on a Discipleship Day so the Publication & History Committee (P&H) and some very interested and keen Discipleship students, took it upon themselves to make the chapel look like a gingerbread wonderland. Due to lack of a proper gingerbread-ish coloured paper (there was much argument whether that dark brown would be construed to be BURNT gingerbread) and a lack of wall space (due to PC's catechism/topical memory system pasting EVERYWHERE), the only space that was left to us was the kitchen door. Needless to say, P&H went crazy with that door and decorated it to within an inch of its life. Students including Julia, Jasmine Koo, Kevin Kwak & Tom Choi went into a frenzy of cutting gingerbread men, buttons, eyes, shoes and even came up with the Gingerbread Teaching Staff. Other students, including Rebecca, Rachel, Jason Yi & Sabrina Park, worked on the Hershey's Chocolate tiling and gumdrop glitter madness while Jabez and Joshua Kang went crazy with the icicles from the tinsle that John Choi and Sean Kim (due to their height) were able to string from the ceiling. Irene Yu was an big help getting last minute supplies with PC and Ellen assisted in putting up the fireplace logs and mantle. Overall, it was a tiring & satisfying morning with lots of Costco pizza after. Hope our contribution to the Chapel brings much joy to the staff and students of GSJHM!
