Man's chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever
Certain 8th graders who participated in the two day Purity Seminars earlier in June 2013 participated in the Purity Ceremony held later that month. After studying about what God's views are on topics such as courting, purity and modesty (to name a few), our students had the opportunity to stand before their peers and their parents and share a little of what they were convicted of during the classes and to publicly declare their vow to celibacy till marriage. Students share what they learned and read their vows After the vows were read and signed, the parents were given the opportunity to say a few words to their children, most expressing how proud they were that they were making this commitment, even at a young age, a there was a constant reminder to fulfill these vows, not just for family and self but primarily for God, whom we seek to honor. The parents then put the purity rings on the fingers of their children and gave out white roses. After this, there was a time of prayer to dedicate the students to the Lord and to protect them as they strive to stand apart from the world and it's lack of values. After this, there was a slew of group photos as the proud families celebrated the event with their children.
