We graduated 13 of our 17 8th graders and were sad though proud to see them go up to high school. We were also happy to commend our three 3-year discipleship CO's: Angela Shin, Jasmnine Koo and Sabrina Park.

Eleven 8th grade students participated in a two-day purity seminar in preparation for Friday's Purity Ceremony, on June 17, 2011. The purity seminar included topics on developing self-identity in Christ, forming healthy friendships, identifying feelings, and making wise choices with the future in mind. Parents and friends in GSJHM gathered to hear the 8th graders make their public commitment to purity before marriage. The 8th graders shared briefly about their faith and what was most memorable from the two-day purity seminar. The students signed a certificate stating their pledge to save themselves for their future spouse, and received a ring as a symbol of their promise to remain pure. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Pastor Clark asked parents and friends for prayer over the students, for God's guidance and blessings upon the 8th graders as they become young men and women of God. “[We] pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the love of God.”
