The 2010-2011 teaching staff got together Wednesday evening to prepare for the next academic year. There was much calendar shuffling and class list moving
The new CO's and NCO's had their first training and bonding session at Eugene's House which included burgers cooked on the GSJHM grill, a lot of sharing and prayer, as well as physical endurance tests in and out of the water. The CO's and NCO's are looking forward to upcoming trainings and know that the tests they're put through are to strengthen them for hard work ahead! Much thanks to the mothers who were there every step of the way, serving and cleaning up after us!
Our young ladies and gentlemen are leaving us! Graduation Service was held and all graduates received a gift before those who completed Discipleship Training were also individually acknowledged with certificates and all were blessed for their future move up to High School.
We're so proud of our graduating 8th graders and had a little party at the Junior High room to tell them so! The evening started with PC giving a little speech and and the teachers served Buca de Beppo to the graduates on slightly Lakers-themed plates/napkins (after the win by the Lakers the previous day)... we then welcomed the incoming 6th graders with games, introductions and had a last farewell to the 8th graders and T. Ann and T. Danny with slideshows and speeches. The 8th grade girls held their final get-together at Charis' place this last Friday. T. Ann led the girls in tie-dying shirts and the girls enjoyed swimming and a BBQ prepared by T.Eric.
This was our first PTA with new parents and past parents for the 2010 -2011 school year.
