Guys, if you don't have the permission slip form, download the file right now from this blog. Everyone needs a permission slip in order to attend this event!! Today was pretty awesome, praise was good and our game of Jeopardy was really fun. Props to Naomi's team, they won. After a long 2 hour and 30 min meeting at church on Sunday, us teachers headed out to Aimee's house and enjoyed fellowship with her family. We had great food, great discussions with each other and T. Eric played awesome music on the grand piano including praise songs, Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, KC and JoJo, Yurima. It was awesome! Aimee also played a pretty intense song before we headed home. Here are some pics... I know many were bummed out about not having a retreat this year, but I also know a lot of you were glad the staff planned something else for you guys as well. A lot of life lessons were learned at this winter program and a lot of fun was had. Our plans were to do an outreach activity at Huntington Beach, but to our surprise nobody was at the beach when we got there and the beach was spotless. We found some trash, but not as much as we had anticipated. Everyone ended up playing in the water, the 8th grade Boys and Girls were the most dry at the end of the day. Kevin Kwak, Hoony and I am going to say all of the 6th grade boys were drenched. AHAHAh, well enjoy the very few pics I took from my phone. T. Ann opened up her home for her traditional 7th grade lock in. The girls had lots of fun and enjoyed fellowship with each other. The food and games were awesome. Here's a small hint of the fun they had together. FNBS was a great time for the Junior High Ministry to learn more about God and have fellowship with their brothers and sisters. Teacher Anne led the second activity with a relay race that was pretty challenging and exciting. Teacher's joined in on the fun and there were a lot of dizzy people on each team from too much spinning. Around 10 p.m. the 8th Graders began their lockin and it was filled with fun and at the same time it was God Centered. We enjoyed eachothers company through God and it was marvelous. We began the night with an ice breaker, each 8th grader received a survey last Sunday and today we had each 8th Grader stand up and read their interviews to their peers. After this we exchanged ideas on what categories to use for our Jeopoardy Game on TV. After the 8th graders gave us their ideas, we allowed the 8th graders some free time in the chapel while Teacher Sarah, Teacher Vince, and Teacher Eric came up with some pretty good questions. The 8th grade Girls took on the 8th Grade Guys in a friendly match of Jeopoardy and the Girls humbly beat the Guys in this epic friendly battle. I will not disclose the score to save some of my 8th grade guys pride. haha. After the game of Jeopoardy, T. Eric and T. David led us in praise. The 8th graders joined together in a circle and we sang Send Revival and Kindness and then we closed in prayer. We than headed out to Denny's for dinner and it was a great time to satisfy our hunger and enjoy each other's company in fellowship. We than head back to church with most of us feeling the effects of food coma. We than all brushed our teeth and washed up and used the rest room. We than joined together for a quiet time discussion prepared by T. Sarah from Galatians Chapter 6. We discussed our feelings about Chapter 6 of Galatians and each shared our input on the Verse that really stuck with us. T. Sarah than provided her own example and closed us in prayer. Everybody woke up around 10 a.m. and got ready for our next event which was High School Musical 3 at Puente Hills Mall Amc Theatres. The showing was at 11:20 a.m. I want to say the movie was more satisfying towards our sisters, but us brothers are willing to take one for the team sometimes :) We than had lunch at the food court and allowed an hour of free time in the mall, T. Sarah supervised the Girls and T. Vince took the guys to go play some games at TILT because the girls were shopping. The rest of the day was spent at church cleaning up after ourselves and taking ownership of our chapel. FNBS8th Grade Lockin!!More pics from T. Sarah coming soon..... The 6th grade lockin was a blast. Everyone had a great time of fellowship, eating out at quicklys, playing the un game and finding out new things about one another, macdonalds for breakfast, camelot, games, lazer tag, mini golf and spicy kimchi for lunch! |
